About
ISISE is a R&D Research Centre created in 2007 involving Departamentos de Engenharia Civil das Universidades de Coimbra e do Minho. In 2014, ISISE was evaluated in 2014 by FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and graded EXCELLENT. The vision of ISISE is to increase the structural and functional performance of Civil Engineering Works, from a perspective of advanced technology, innovation and a knowledge based economy with a wide focus that ranges from materials to integral systems with a life cycle approach.

From Lisbon airport
From Lisbon you can easily arrive at Coimbra by train departing from Oriente station in Lisbon and arriving at Coimbra train station terminal B. You can change to another train to the Centre of the town at Coimbra B Station. This will take you about 2h10 min with the intercities or alfa services. You can check the timetables in the link http://www.cp.pt and select Lisboa/Porto-Braga-Guimaraes to download the timetables. There are trains approximately every hour.
Leaving from Portela Airport to Oriente train station the best is to take the metro to Oriente station, red line. For more details you can check the link www.metrolisboa.pt. As an alternative, you can take the taxi directly to the train station. The distance is short although the traffic may delay you. It should not cost you more than 10€.
From Oporto airport
You can easily arrive at Coimbra by train departing from Campanhã station in Oporto and arriving at Coimbra train station terminal B. You can change to another train to the Centre of the town at Coimbra B Station. This will take you about 1h10 min with the intercities or alfa services. You can check the timetables in the link above the same way.
The best way to go from Franscisco Sá Carneiro Airport to Campanhã train station is by metro. Line E (Violet) connects Airport Station to Campanhã Station. The travel time is around 30 min with a waiting time of 20 min. The metro station is located just in front of the arrivals zone of the International Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in parallel with the two existing road ways. By car
FCTUC is located south of Coimbra at Pólo II - Rua Luís Reis Santos 3030-788 Coimbra (red circle in the map next). From the city centre, any of the hotels or Coimbra train station terminal A/B to FCTUC you can go by taxi, the distance is rather small, and will cost you not more than 10€. Alternatively, busses nº 38 and 43 leaving from centre of Coimbra – Portagem (Parque), next to the train station terminal A and Santa Clara Bridge, will take you to FCTUC (waiting time 1 hour).
